Flight Instructor (FI)

Aim of the course

The objective of the course is to give the applicant adequate training in ground and flying instructional techniques based upon established teaching methods.

On successful completion of the course and final test the holder of an FI rating is permitted to give 100 hours of flight training under supervision.

Pre-entry requirements

  • Holder of a PPL or CPL license
  • Have completed 200 hours flight time, of which 100 hours as pilot in command for a CPL holder, or 150 hours as pilot in command for a PPL holder.
  • Medical fitness, holding a class 1 or class 2 medical certificate
  • Have passed the theoretical knowledge examination for a CPL or ATPL
  • At least 18 years of age
  • Have passed the pre-entry flight test
  • A sufficient general knowledge to understand the theoretical courses

The theoretical training can be organised on demand. You will attend 125 hours on teaching and classroom work.

Flight training

The flight instruction shall comprise at least 30 hours of flight training, of which 25 hours shall be dual flight instruction. The remaining 5 hours may be mutual flying (two applicants flying together to practise flight demonstrations).
